Jesse Smedberg

As co-founder of Tulip Tree Gardens, Jesse oversees the company’s farming methodologies and leads processing and extraction operations. Drawing from 20 years of experience in large scale, high volume manufacturing and engineering projects, Jesse has designed, built and run highly customized manufacturing cells and production equipment at some of the world’s largest OEM’s including Ford Motor, Chrysler and U.S. Army Arsenal and Air Force installations. He was formerly a Chicago Area Industrial Commission board member and has led the implementation and auditing of ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 production quality control programs.

Jesse designed and launched Tulip Tree Gardens’ core lab operations including buildouts of extraction, evaporation, distillation, remediation and formulary processes. With a deep background in engineering, Jesse continues to lead the planning and implementation of the company’s new high-throughput lab designed to set new standards in cost-effective, high-volume hemp oil production. His current production project is the development of standardized production processes both in the field and in the lab.

In the field, Jesse gets to bring production minded methods to the soil. Current field focuses include aggressive cover cropping and soil regeneration with current plans to expand our livestock operations and permaculture installations this fall and winter.
